Our Club

Bungay Town FC has a proud history (see our club history page) but our aim is to secure an impressive future. The Club has been part of the Bungay & District Sports Association since 1999 who have already been successful in obtaining grant aid approaching £800,000 to purchase and develop the Maltings Meadow Sports Ground in Ditchingham, just outside Bungay.

Building work is now complete on our modern, sports specific changing rooms, a bar with panoramic views of the sports field and other social facilities such as a kitchen and sun drenched patio

Next season will witness yet more capital investment providing a new floodlit, astro turf surfaced multi-use games area designed for tennis, football coaching sessions and small sided soccer.

Monitor the progress of the builders through the photographs on the home ground page.. This £120,000 project has again been funded by significant sports grants from Sport England and the Football Foundation matched by money from Biffa, WREN and many local community groups.

The third stage of our facility development will see permanent floodlights installed around our main grass football pitch ready for the 2007-8 season. We are keen to develop our youth players and maximize their potential by entering the regional Under 18’s floodlit league.

This capital investment will remove any obstacle to high quality, senior football returning to the Maltings Meadow in the near future. Bungay Town FC is gradually beginning to rise from the ashes of 40 years of neglect. The foundations are strong; youngsters are joining our junior teams all the time.

Our target now is to harness that strength in depth to create a pinnacle of excellence in our Saturday 1st Team. We must attract the very best players to the only local club demonstrating the strength of its ambition by investing £1,000,000 in quality sporting facilities.

Finance is the key! The proper utilization of all our marvellous new facilities will generate the income required to instigate and maintain our quest to be the pinnacle of excellence of football locally. The foundation stones are nearly laid, it is now up to the players on the pitch to reflect the quality of the facilities they use.
