The Club are part of the Bungay & District Sports Association, a ‘not-for-profit’ group, set up in 1999 to improve sports facilities at the Maltings Meadow. Since then, the Association has been successful in obtaining more than £1million of grant aid to purchase the freehold of the ground, to build the new dressing rooms and clubhouse, to install the floodlit MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area), to relocate the cricket square and to provide high quality floodlights on the main football pitch.
Alongside the Football Club, the other clubs that are part of the Sports Associaition are Bungay Cricket Club and Bungay Tennis Club.
The Sports Association management committee are convinced that a multi-sport approach will encourage use and secure the long term viability of the sports ground. Future plans include an outdoor exercise trail, the provision of mini-rugby and an expansion of the clubhouse to provide indoor facilities suitable for a variety of martial arts, aerobics or dance classes and similar popular exercise based activities.
