About Bungay Town Football Club

Bungay Town Football Club, known as the Black Dogs, was formed in 1925. We provide opportunity for football from age 4 to 50 from our base at the Maltings Meadow Sports Ground. We have three Saturday men's teams with the 1st Team currently playing in Anglian Combination Division 1. The recently reformed Under 18’s team competes in the strong Eastern Division of the Ridgeons Youth Floodlit League. Our two Sunday teams are in the South Norfolk Sunday League and we run a veteran's team in the Norfolk and Suffolk Veteran's League. The women's team plays in the Norfolk Women's League and we also run boys and girls teams from Under 7's to Under 16's.

FA Charter Community Club

CharterWe are delighted to be recognised by the Football Association for the quality of our club, named as a Charter Community Club. We are one of only around 300 football clubs in the country to have this quality kitemark. Community Club status is the pinnacle of the FA Kitemark Quality scheme. It allows parents, players and volunteers to recognise at a glance the very best clubs to join.

*To achieve and hold Community Club Status requires a club to plan for improvement in player ability, club facilities and community involvement, it is not sufficient just to survive from season to season.

Bungay Town FC has a proud history (see our club history page) but our aim is to secure an impressive future. The Club has been part of the Bungay & District Sports Association since 1999 a ‘not for profit’ organisation that has already been successful in obtaining grant aid in excess of £1,000,000 to purchase and develop the Maltings Meadow Sports Ground in Ditchingham, just outside Bungay.
