7/3/10 Kirkley A 0 - 0 Bungay Town U11's
After another two week break because of the weather, Bungay were back in action against Kirkley A. The game was very tight with a tremendous battle in midfield to gain any sort of advantage. In the first half the chances were few and far between with Kirkley restricted to a couple of long range efforts which caused Josh, in goal no problem and for Bungay Luke had a great chance but just scuffed his shot wide. The second half, again was very tight. Bungay had a couple of half chances but a very good game finished all square.

A couple of the boys were down after the game, they have no reason to be, they are part of a good football team and are still in with a chance of winning the league, though they must win their remaining four games and hope Waveney slip up. Second place is in their own hands though and with a cup final to come the boys should be proud of what they are doing.

Next week Home against Kirkley C, a must win game!!

14/2/10 Bungay Town U11's 5 - 0 Waveney C
This week Bungay entertained Waveney c in the semi-final of the league cup. The game was very tight in the first 15 minutes, with Elliot shooting over from close range, and a Waveney player shooting wide after Josh in goal slipped over. Slowly Bungay began to get on top, and a goal from Jamie and one from Callum settled the nervous parents on the touchline. Half-time 2-0. The second half saw Bungay boss the game and after Harry and Jamie netted the game was safe. This enabled the manager to swap the players around a bit, hopefully to show the boys that playing in a different position is hard and  they need one another to be a team. In the closing minutes Jamie netted again for his hatrick.  The team are working very hard at the moment for each other, the fluency in our game is not quite there, but it will come again. Special mention this week must go to Jaymel, no one was going to get past him today.

7/2/10 Stowupland Falcons U11 0 - 3 Bungay Town U11'sGorleston FC
Bungay u11's made their debut in the Ipswich Open Cup, making the trip to Stowupland. After only one game since December 13th Bungay were a bit rusty and took a while to get going. Big Josh in goal made one great save in the first half to keep the scores level before a great solo run from Liam put Bungay 1-0 up. In the second half Bungay got their game going with the defence solid and the midfield working hard to support both defence and attack. A smart run and cross from Luke set up Callum to add the second, and when Luke scored the third the win was secure. It was good for the boys to play against a team from another league and more importantly it was a good run out before next weeks league cup semi final. 2pm kick off at the Maltings 14th Feb.

24/01/10 Bungay Town U11's 11 - 0 Gorleston FC
The first game for the u11's since December 13th was likely to be a problem as we always take time to get going again after a break. Though, as the scoreline suggests the opposition were not the best, they still needed to be beaten. The boys played very well through out this game, they played the passing football we ask them to do almost straight away. Liam and Elliot were very good in the centre of midfield, though there are more difficult games ahead these two are now working well together and will be a handful for any team. Also we must credit Josh in goal and the four defenders in front of him. Its difficult to keep your concentration when the ball is up the other end for most of the game, but the boys did well and dealt with any rare Gorleston attack comfortably. Next week we are home to Waveney C in the league cup semi-final, 2pm kick off.

13/12/09 Bungay Town U11's 7 - 0 Gorleston FC
After a week off due to a waterlogged pitch, Bungay u11's were back in league cup action entertaining Gorleston FC. Apart from the last 10 minutes everything the boys did was good. They passed the ball simply and made themselves numerous chances. Some of these chances were wasted but the boys kept making more and the result was never in any doubt. The only slight disappointment was that in the last 10 minutes we played a 4-0-6 formation, with the midfield all pushing too far up field. This was our last game before Xmas we now have three weeks off, but when we come back there are some big games, with our first game in the Ipswich cup, 2 games each against Kirkley A and C, both of which are very good sides let alone a league cup semi-final. Lots of things to look forward to in the New Year. Wishing the boys and their families a very Merry Xmas and good luck in the New Year.

29/11/09 Gorleston Rangers A 1 - 5 Bungay Town U11's
This week was the return to Gorleston Rangers in the cup. The difference between this week and last was massive, Bungay were in control of the match throughout. Every player gave everything, the boys battled when they had to and played good football when they could. Going down the slope in the first half Bungay came in at 3-0 to the good at half time. We told the boys the next goal would be crucial if we got it the heads of the opponents would drop. However Gorleston got the next goal from a corner to make it 3-1. Bungay then turned on the style playing good passing football, the boys opened up the Gorleston defence several times but only managed to score twice more. Final score 5-1. Good stuff lads. Next game is Kirkley c at home this Sunday 10.30 kick off

22/11/09 Gorleston Rangers A 2 - 2 Bungay Town U11's
For the first time in 5 weeks Bungay were at full strength for the visit to in-form Gorleston Rangers. With a stiff wind blowing and a steep slope on the pitch it was always going to be a game of two halves. Bungay started with the slope and wind in their favour and following good pressure from Zak, Harry made it 1-0. Gorleston did well to force Bungay back a couple of times, but mostly it was Bungay pressure on the Gorleston defence. After 20mins Harry made a good run into the Penalty area and was tripped to enable Jamie to finish well from the spot. Half time 2-0. The second half was a reverse of the first with constant pressure on the Bungay goal. Half way through the half Gorleston pulled one back, but after this the pressure was dealt with quite comfortably by Bungay. With about 2 minutes to go the referee gave a free-kick for hand ball to Gorleston about 20 yards out. This was the only mistake the young referee made as the ball hit Ben in the groin but the resulting free kick was brilliant as the ball was drilled into the top corner of the net. Good battling lads well done. Next week a return visit to the slope as we take on Rangers again in the cup.

15/11/09 Bungay Town U11's 1 - 2 Waveney A
Waveney 'a' were the opponents this week. Bungay made a fantastic start and following a cross from Luke, Jamie steered the ball home within five minutes. Callum and Elliot both had chances in the first half to make it two but the keeper saved well both times. The Bungay defence were cancelling out any Waveney chances well and at halt time it remained 1-0. The second half I'm afraid to say the Bungay team were blown away by some exceptional play by Waveney. Attack after attack was thrown at the Bungay defence, a couple of chances were cleared of the line and eventually the goal came to level the game with 10mins left. Unfortunately the winning goal came within 2 minutes and to be fair the Waveney team deserved the win. Boys, one bad half doesn't make us a bad team but we need a positive response from all of you next week.

8/11/09 Hemsby 0 - 9 Bungay under 11's Jamie x2, Alex, Liam and 1 own goal.
This week we made the long trip to Hemsby. The conditions were far better than last week and this enable Bungay to play their passing game. With the boys listening and playing good simple football they opened up the Hemsby defence with ease and though two goals were ruled out for offside, came in at half time 3-0 up. The second half carried on much the same and goals kept coming. Full time 9-0. This is how we must play every week lads. We cant match some teams physically, but we don't think there is a team who can out play us through football. Good team effort lads. Next week Waveney 'a' at home.

1/11/09 Bungay under 11's 5 - 4 Gorleston Rangers B
This week we had our first cup game of the season. In appalling conditions Bungay came out 5-4 winners against a Gorleston side from two divisions below, who never gave up and seemed to cope with the driving rain better than the Bungay players. Im sorry I cant remember who scored, it was bloomin wet!! We do need lads to get back to playing football for the team not for yourselves.

25/10/09 Gorleston F.C 0 - 9 Bungay under 11's
We visited Gorleston  F.C. this week, who have had the misfortune of losing a lot of players over the summer. Bungay attacked from the start and once they got the first goal the result was never in doubt. No manager can complain about winning any game 9-0 so I won't, however there was a point in the second half when we had six players attacking and not one, in midfield. We want to try and keep our team shape at all times boys. Moan over, well done lads.

18/10/09 Bungay under 11's 4 - 2 Loddon
After a two week break Bungay were back in action against near neighbours Loddon. To be honest the break did the Bungay players no good as there wasn't any football played in the first half. Half time Bungay were lucky to come in at 0-0. After a good 'rollicking' at half time, the lads upped their game, some of the passing game we play came back and chances were being made. Jamie opened the scoring from just outside the box, then Luke added a second, his speed taking him away from the defenders and releasing a powerful shot which gave the keeper no chance. Zak got the third following a mistake from the Loddon keeper, but credit to Zak for chasing the ball until the end. Loddon then scored with a penalty before Callum got Bungay's fourth with a shot the keeper did very well to save but Callum got to the rebound first and finished well. In the dying moments Loddon pulled another goal back to make the final score 4-2.
A first half to forget lads but well done for the second half.

27/9/09 Bungay under 11's 4 - 1 Gorleston Rangers
This week the boys had a late kick-off against a strong looking Gorleston Rangers team. Harry opened the scoring with a well struck shot from the edge of the area giving the keeper no chance. This gave Bungay a bit more confidence and they started to play their football. Jamie made it 2-0 after 20 mins. The boys seemed to relax a little too much then and Gorleston rattled the crossbar twice before half time.

The second half saw much the same Bungay's football against the strength of Gorleston. Jamie added his second and Luke made it 4-0 before missing a penalty. The last 5 minutes saw Bungay lose shape and concentration and allowed Gorleston to score a consolation goal. The next two weeks see us visiting Kirkley twice to play both their teams, two very difficult games.

20/9/09 Waveney A 1 - 1 Bungay under 11's
The visit to Waveney is always a tough game, so the last thing Bungay needed was an illness. Elliot didn't manage to shake off his cold but still turned up and started as a sub. In the opening 15 mins Bungay managed to split the Waveney defence 3 or 4 times with good through balls, but some excellent defending kept the score goalless. Gradually the Waveney midfield began to get on top and they deserved their goal when it came. Half time 1-0 Waveney. The second half started and Waveney were playing the better football, with Jaymel and Bradley defending well no clear cut chances were made and the half chances were dealt with by Josh in goal. The Bungay boys never gave up and must be applauded for the effort they put in and this effort was rewarded when they were awarded a penalty with only 3 minutes left. Luke was brave in taking it, as he had missed one last week. This time he put the ball into the corner.  In the last minute Waveney had a chance to snatch it from a corner but the header went just wide. Full time 1-1  Great effort boys, but we need to start getting our game going, pass move etc. Concentration in training is required, ready for next Sunday home v Gorleston rangers. Yet again another tough game.

13/9/09 Bungay Under 11's 6 - 1 Hemsy Hornets
The first game of the new season, and the first game at 11 a side, saw Bungay entertain Hemsby. The boys played well and dictated most of the first half. They ignored things going on off the ball and let their football do the talking which was very pleasing. Alex opened the scoring driving the ball back across the keeper into the corner. Then Liam chipped the keeper with his left foot and also scored with a powerful right foot shot. Jamie added a couple doing what all good centre forwards do, reacting quickest in the six yard box. Half time 5-0

The second half saw Bungay make several chance notably to Scottie, Luke and Elliot, but due to the woodwork and some fine goalkeeping none managed to add to the score. Eventually though Zak increased the lead with a strong powerful run and good finish. The boys lost a bit of shape towards the end and Hemsby did manage a late consolation goal. Final score 6-1. A good start lads but still room for improvement. Next week we visit Waveney 'a' and this game will be a tough test as they are the team to beat in this age group.
